Chemical Barrier Protection
A chemical barrier is an effective solution for long-term termite protection, consisting of an ‘unbroken zone’ of liquid termiticide. This is applied in the soil around the foundations of the building. The process involves digging a soil trench around the perimeter of the home to gain access to the footing and drill and injecting below any concrete paths, patios or driveways.
The active ingredient in the chemicals we use is ‘Fipronil’ which is non repellent and undetectable to termites. This ensures any existing termite colonies within your property are destroyed as they pass through the barrier and carry it back to the nest. We do not use repellents!
Chemical termite barriers are a long-term solution to safeguard your property against unwanted guests as it can last up to 8 years with regular minimal maintenance. In some high-pressure environments, some additional chemical application may be recommended. A yearly termite inspection must be undertaken to ensure the treated zone is still effective.
Chemical Reticulation Systems
Post-Construction – For existing homes, reticulation provides an excellent protective system with minimal disruption to soil. The flexible pipe is buried around the total or partial perimeter of a structure and the flexible nature of the piping means that vulnerable points such as downpipes can receive concentrated applications of the termiticide.
Once the system is installed, an impenetrable barrier is created for termites and future inspections and replenishment of the system is easy and cost effective. Reticulation is ideal when you may be adding an extension to your home or second dwelling.
Re-filling existing reticulation systems – If you have an existing reticulation system then it is likely we can refill that system for you. Servicing but not limited to – Slabset – Termstop – TermX – Termguard – Cavtect
